g33k 4 Jesus
g33k:
this is 1337 (meaning leet, a messed up dialect of english used by those who want to sound cool on the internet, or for those whose Google site domain name of choice is already taken) for "geek". Many people use the term "geek" and "nerd" interchangeably, but this is not so. A nerd is someone who is very intelligent yet does not fit in with regular society. A geek is like a more badass version of a nerd. Geek is really more of a slowly growing underground culture of people who realize that fitting in with "normal" society is a way of suppressing your true self and giving up all that awesome for a lower, shared standard. Geek is intentionally choosing not to conform. Geek is also associated with technology, mad skills, and really weird interests. i like to think i am a geek.
4:
...means "for". no deep symbolism there, i don't think. wait yes actually. more on that later.
Jesus:
Jesus. Wow, i guess i have to sum this up in a relatively short blog post. I guess i also should have put it in like caps lock or something, because this is really the most important part of it all (as in my life). So for those of you who don't know Him, He's a pretty great guy (so great that i feel the need to capitalize pronouns referring to Him). What happened is that when God created the world, He made it perfect. The first people on Earth, Adam and Eve, had it great; they were happy in every way. But apparently that wasn't good enough for them. So they did the one thing they were forbidden to do, which was to eat the fruit from this one tree that would give them the power to understand evil. So because of that, all of humanity ever since has been tainted by evil that we are unable to control or handle.
The problem with that is that is that God can't stand evil, and people tainted with evil can't stand God. And after we die, we are supposed to go to heaven and chill with God. And it's gonna be really awesome. But that doesn't work with this evil in the way. This evil basically exists in the form of anything morally wrong we ever do. So God sent His only son (which though some weird concept that is beyond human comprehension, is also Him at the same time. Son is just a figurative way of representing their closeness and some other deep stuff i'm not gonna get into right now) Jesus to Earth. He stayed there for a while and healed a bunch of sick people, performed lots of miracles, and taught about God's love for us (He loves us a lot), along with telling us to love everyone, even our enemies. But He also questioned a lot of the status quo (a bit of geek-like quality perhaps?), and pissed off the authorities. a lot. So much in fact that they hatched a plot to kill Him.
Eventually the authorities got Him arrested and falsely accused for a bunch of religious crimes, such as heresy, blasphemy, and all that. And he was crucified (bad way to go. nailed to a cross and suspended there until dead) for his "crimes". What they didn't realize was that this was all part of the plan. During his time on earth, Jesus never did anything wrong (something that has never, and will never be accomplished). So when He was crucified as a criminal, He died a death He completely didn't deserve. And He took on all of our evil. And then, 3 days later, God brought Him back to life (and that's super awesome). He hung out on earth a bit before going back up to heaven. So all we have to do is ask Him, and all of our evil (often referred to as sin) is forgiven. So we got a man on the inside to vouch for us. And it's really just as simple as asking Him to be a part of your life, acknowledging our own sin, and asking Him to forgive you.
(i don't claim to have "all the answers" or something. This is what i believe, and if you think i have something wrong, please let me know. if you have a google account, leave a comment. I don't know everything, and i would greatly appreciate being corrected if something i say has issues.)

G33k4Jesus:
Here is where the 4 is important. Jesus is awesome, and He saved us all from our own evil. But there's more. Getting the forgiveness is simple, but what happens afterward is awesome. We are called to help further His kingdom (he said that back in the days of empires and kingdoms, so try to understand the metaphor). This means helping spread the good news that we are saved, and loving everyone. So. For. A geek, FOR Jesus. For means purpose. The purpose of my life is serving God. By life i mean everything. Now i know, i'm going to fail. I will fail to get Him to the top of my priorities, i will fail at tasks given to me. But i will try, knowing that He accepts my failures and can make use of me anyways. I am denouncing my loyalty to this world, and pledging it to God's. i will slip up now and then, sometimes the geek will get bigger than the 4Jesus. and that is wrong, but it will happen i hope it doesn't, but it will. But i am glad to know that Jesus will forgive me anyways, and that no matter what (like actually. anything at all), He still loves me.
and whether or not you acknowledge it, He loves you too.
